About Us

History

BC Farm

BC Dairy Foundation was established in 1973 to operate as the advertising and promotional arm of the BC dairy industry. Its objective is to promote to and educate the consumer in order to increase the consumption and sale of fluid milk in BC.

Advertising

The Foundation is well known for its award winning television commercials. The advertising has achieved a high level of recognition and consumer awareness in a very crowded and competitive beverage arena. In 2009, the Foundation won at the Bessies, the Canadian Marketing Awards, Lotus, Applied Arts, just to name a few.

Promotions and Sponsorships

The BC Dairy Foundation makes major contributions at the community level and, in return, generates tremendous recognition, goodwill and marketing opportunity for the dairy industry. Some of our sponsorships include university and college level athletics, Crankworx Whistler, Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival and more.

Promotions allow consumers to get engaged and excited about drinking milk and in return be able to win many exciting prizes. Must Drink More Milk to Win and Milk Slam are two examples of promotions that the Foundation executes.

Nutrition Education

The Foundation has a strong nutrition education program which helps individuals include milk and milk products as part of a well balanced diet. Nutrition educators develop materials, based on Canda's Food Guide, and travel throughout the province giving workshops to teachers and health professionals. As well, many interactive consumer brochures have been produced by the nutrition staff and are in high demand. The nutrition educators at the Foundation continue to be recognized as leaders in their field.

School Milk BC

This BC Dairy Foundation initiative provides BC schools with tools and information for setting up a school milk program. For over 25 years, more than 700,000 students have participated, drinking 4 million litres of milk.
